Common questions

Fast answers

Why does Read to Camera need camera and microphone access?

Camera access is required to record your front-camera video. Microphone access adds sound. If you prefer, or if microphone access is unavailable, you can explicitly record a silent video.

Does the prompt appear in my finished video?

No. The script and controls are an on-screen guide only. They are not added to the video you preview, save, or share.

Where are my scripts and recordings stored?

Scripts and unfinished recording drafts stay in protected storage on your iPhone. A video leaves the app only when you choose Save to Photos or Share.

Why can’t I save to Photos?

Open iPhone Settings, find Read to Camera, and allow Photos access for adding photos and videos. You can still use Share without Photos permission.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings inside Read to Camera and choose Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.

How do I manage or cancel the monthly plan?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, then select Read to Camera.

Can I change orientation while recording?

Choose Portrait or Landscape before the countdown. Read to Camera holds that orientation for the entire take so the prompt does not jump while you speak.

The camera or audio stopped during a take. What happened?

A call, another camera app, backgrounding, low storage, or device temperature can interrupt recording. Read to Camera will try to finalize a playable draft and tell you whether it can be previewed.
