1. Who is responsible

Read to Camera (the “App”) and readtocamera.app (the “Website”) are published by Yurii Koshkin in Spain. For privacy questions or requests, email support@readtocamera.app.

2. The short version

• No account, sign-in, advertising, or cross-app tracking.
• Your script text, script title, video, audio, filenames, and file locations are not uploaded to us or to TelemetryDeck.
• Scripts, settings, free-use state, and temporary recording drafts are stored locally on your iPhone.
• Optional product analytics help us understand whether features work. They begin only if you choose to share them and never contain your content.
• The Website does not use analytics cookies or advertising trackers.

3. Information stored on your device

The App stores the following locally so it can work offline:

• scripts you create, including their titles and text;
• teleprompter preferences such as speed, type size, colors, countdown, mirror mode, and orientation;
• your free-output and review-request state;
• temporary recording drafts until you save, share, discard, or the App performs bounded cleanup.

You can delete scripts inside the App. Removing the App deletes its local data, subject to normal iOS and device-backup behavior. Videos already saved to Photos or shared elsewhere are controlled by those destinations.

4. Camera, microphone, and Photos

The App requests system permissions only when needed:

• Camera: to record front-camera video.
• Microphone: to include audio. You may explicitly choose a silent recording instead.
• Photos add-only access: to save a finished video when you choose Save to Photos.

The App does not read your Photos library. Permission status is used on-device to show the correct controls and is not included in app-defined analytics.

5. Privacy-conscious product analytics

If you explicitly choose Share usage analytics, the App initializes TelemetryDeck and begins sending a small, reviewed set of coarse events such as script creation, recording completion, output destination category, paywall presentation, purchase outcome category, and restore outcome. App-defined analytics do not include script or media content, titles, text-derived metrics, filenames, media URLs, transaction IDs, prices, precise recording duration, permission status, or free-form error text.

Before you make that choice, the TelemetryDeck client is not initialized and no analytics signal is sent. Choosing Don’t share does not limit recording, exporting, purchases, or any other App feature. You can change your choice at any time in Settings under Share usage analytics. Turning it off stops new analytics signals.

The TelemetryDeck iOS SDK adds a pseudonymous client identifier derived by hashing Apple’s identifier for vendor, a random session identifier, event time, and standard device, app, run-context, accessibility, and calendar metadata. We do not use an advertising identifier, do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, and do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

6. Purchases

Apple processes App Store purchases, trials, billing, and refunds. The App uses StoreKit to receive product information and verify entitlement status. We do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

7. Saving and sharing

A recording leaves App-controlled storage only when you choose Save to Photos or Share. The system share sheet and the destination you select are operated by Apple or the relevant third party. Their privacy practices apply after the file is shared.

8. Support emails

If you contact support, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request, investigate the issue, prevent abuse, and keep necessary support records. The public support address forwards mail to the publisher’s support inbox. You can ask us to delete a support conversation unless we must retain it for legal, security, or recordkeeping reasons.

9. Retention and security

Local App data remains until you delete it, remove the App, or automatic draft cleanup applies. TelemetryDeck currently states in its Privacy FAQ that its cold-storage analytics have no guaranteed deletion schedule and are expected, but not guaranteed, to be deleted after approximately 7–10 years. Because those events are not linked to your identity, an individual event may not be identifiable for deletion. We use Apple-protected app storage and limit collection, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices and rights

Product analytics are optional. In the App, open Settings and switch off Share usage analytics to withdraw consent and stop new analytics signals. This does not affect App features or purchases.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data, or to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Because the App has no account and does not send us your scripts or recordings, we generally cannot retrieve that local content for you. Contact support@readtocamera.app for a privacy request.

11. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account or content data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review the request.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App, its analytics, or legal requirements change. We will post the new effective date here. Material changes will be communicated in the App when appropriate.
